What You’ll Gain from This Group
This is not just a reading group, it’s a learning space for mental health professionals seeking to integrate justice into their personal and professional practices.
As a result of your participation in this group you will be able to:
Describe and apply relevant theories of decolonization in mental health practice, recognizing the limitations of traditional models and their impact on marginalized communities.
Identify harmful practices within the mental health field that perpetuate systemic oppression and colonial structures.
Summarize and apply the 4C Framework for Radical Love (Learning Theory, Building Community, Collective Political Action, and Radical Self-Care).
Apply cultural competency by engaging with diverse, decolonial, and indigenous perspectives on mental health.
Demonstrate political and cultural competency by reflecting on the therapist and client positionalities.
Develop actionable steps for implementing social justice principles into therapeutic work and community spaces.
Identify strategies to foster community and collective action for healing and transformation.
Distinguish between radical self-care and mainstream self-care to address burnout meaningfully.
What You’ll Experience

Supportive Community of like-minded professionals committed to justice and care
Radical Framework based on the 4Cs of Radical Love:
Critical Consciousness
Community
Civic Courage
Care
Why It Matters
Many of us were trained in models that emphasize neutrality, symptom management, and individual responsibility—leaving little room to acknowledge systemic harm or collective healing.
This group is designed for those who are ready to shift their practices:
From isolation to intentional community
From coping to reclaiming agency and resisting burnout
From neutrality to justice-centered presence in the therapy room
